Currency and Exchange Rates Before your trip please, spend some time to familize yourself with exchange rates so you can get much out of your money. Remember that East Africa countries uses different currency so you need to be aware of the strength of each currency as you more from one country to another. Credit card is not commonly used as used in most developed countries. Only few placess like major hotels, airports, airlines will accept credit cards. Don't take a chance to bank all your trip on a credit card. Only major credit card such as: VISA would work in most of these places.
